 ubstance use disorders. This training gives you the skills you need to rea
 ch out and provide initial support to someone who may be developing a ment
 al health or substance use problem and help connect them to the appropriat
 e care.\n\nWhat the Mental Health First Aid Course offers:\n• Common signs
  and symptoms of mental illness\n• Common signs and symptoms of substance 
 use\n• How to interact with a person in crisis\n• How to connect the perso
 n with help\n• Content on trauma\, addiction\, and self-care\n\nThe course
  will teach you how to apply the ALGEE action plan:\n• Assess for risk of 
 suicide or harm.\n• Listen nonjudgmentally.\n• Give reassurance and inform
 ation.\n• Encourage appropriate professional help.\n• Encourage self-help 
 and other support strategies.\n\n<b>This session is free and open to every
 one. We appreciate your interest in learning more about mental health and 
 wellness.</b>
