Mental Health First Aid is designed to teach parents\, family members\, c
aregivers\, teachers\, school staff\, peers\, neighbors\, health and human
services workers\, and other caring citizens how to help an adolescent (a
ge 12-18) who is experiencing a mental health or addictions challenge or i
s in crisis.\n\nThe course introduces common mental health challenges for
youth\, reviews typical adolescent development\, and teaches a 5-step acti
on plan for how to help young people in both crisis and non-crisis situati
ons.\n\nTopics covered include:\n+ Anxiety\n+ Depression\n+ Substance use
\n+ Disorders in which psychosis may occur\n+ Disruptive behavior disorder
s (including AD/HD)\n+ Eating disorders\n\nThis session is open to ever
yone\, but it's free for those who live or work in Milwaukee County. Howev
er\, we ask that you reserve your seat with a $25 deposit. Those who live
or work in Milwaukee County will have their deposit refunded after they at
tend the workshop. Those who don't attend\, or live and work outside of Mi
lwaukee County\, will not receive a refund. Thank you! We appreciate your
