 t them to the appropriate care.\n\nWhat the Mental Health First Aid Course
  offers:\n• Common signs and symptoms of mental illness\n• Common signs an
 d symptoms of substance use\n• How to interact with a person in crisis\n• 
 How to connect the person with help\n• Content on trauma\, addiction\, and
  self-care\n\nThe course will teach you how to apply the ALGEE action plan
 :\n• Assess for risk of suicide or harm.\n• Listen nonjudgmentally.\n• Giv
 e reassurance and information.\n• Encourage appropriate professional help.
