 Youth Mental Health First Aid is designed to teach parents\, family member
 s\, caregivers\, teachers\, school staff\, peers\, neighbors\, health and 
 human services workers\, and other caring citizens how to help an adolesce
 nt (age 12-18) who is experiencing a mental health or addictions challenge
  or is in crisis.\n\nThe course introduces common mental health challenges
  for youth\, reviews typical adolescent development\, and teaches a 5-step
  action plan for how to help young people in both crisis and non-crisis si
 tuations.\n\nTopics covered include:\n\nAnxiety\nDepression\nSubstance use
 \nDisorders in which psychosis may occur\nDisruptive behavior disorders (i
 ncluding AD/HD)\nEating disorders\n\n<b>The training will be held virtuall
 y\, with instructor Gloria Marfo. It's open to Milwaukee County residents 
 and those who work with them. It's offered at no cost to participants.</b>
