We at Community Advocates Public Policy Institute are thrilled to participate in #GivingTuesday, the global day of giving.
With your support, we can continue to advance a more hopeful, healthy, and prosperous Milwaukee.
This past year, Community Advocates Public Policy Institute has:
Grown community coalitions devoted to preventing prescription drug abuse and overdose, youth marijuana and alcohol use, and tobacco use and exposure
Enabled youth- and family-serving organizations to expand their programming
Advocated to protect affordable health care for Wisconsinites living on a limited income, or with a disability or a mental illness
Hosted Senator Tammy Baldwin of Wisconsin and Senator Cory Booker of New Jersey as they introduced The Stronger Way Act, which was inspired by our signature policy package, the Working Our Way Out of Poverty proposal
Provided training opportunities to human services professionals to enhance their skills
Coordinated resources for transitional job seekers and ex-offenders returning to the community to improve their chances of success
Engaged and empowered residents of Milwaukee's most disadvantaged neighborhoods
Next year, we promise to do even more with your support.
Your generosity will enable us to continue our positive youth development programs, prevention work, and policy proposals so that we can create brighter futures for at-risk youth and adults in our community.
