Pulling Together for Peace and Solutions 2017

More 53206 Drug-Free Communities Events

The 53206 Drug-Free Communities Project and Safe & Sound are presenting the 53206-focused Pulling Together for Peace and Solutions 2017 on Saturday, July 15.

The July 15 event will feature a town hall with appearances from three Milwaukee Common Council members who represent the 53206 zip code: Alderwoman Milele Coggs, Alderman Khalif Rainey, and Alderman Russell Stamper II.

From there, solution-oriented breakout sessions will be offered:

  • Health care: physical and mental
  • Employment: training, readiness, opportunities
  • Housing: renting, owning
  • Safety: neighborhood, proper reporting

“We wanted to create an event that allows residents to develop their own solutions to the issues facing the 53206 community,” said Rashidah Butler, the 53206 Drug-Free Communities Project Coordinator. “We also want local leaders to hear from their constituents and offer their insights. This truly is a collaborative effort to make real, positive change in our community.”
